Summer Fun and Summer Plans!

Nothing too exciting going on at the house of Pickle lately. I have been working extra hours the past few weeks. I usually work two 12 hour shifts per week. I know I've mentioned before how much I love my job. Not only do I love what I do, but I also love the flexibility that being a nurse entails. We wanna go on a cruise? Sure thing, I'll pick up a few extra shifts and let's go, buddy! ;-) But, I don't wanna work that much all the time. Flexibility! And I like it! So... we are going on another cruise in September! Wooo!!! Derick, Jake and I will be visiting Jamaica, Grand Cayman, and Cozumel. We leave out of NOLA, which we've never been to, so we'll spend a day or two there too. We are so ready for September! And I am so thankful the quickly decided upon trip is almost paid in full! Yay for being a nurse. Ha.

We've been doing the summer thing. Swimming, eating lots of ice cream, snow cones, butter (wait, what?), playing with friends, being nakey (Jake, that is), visiting Nena & Pop, picking peppers, and of course lots of snuggling! Ok, so the last one wasn't really a summer thing, but it's summer and we are doing lots of snuggling, so that makes it a summer thing!

We spent Memorial Day weekend at a cabin in Wister, OK on Lake Wister. It's a tiny little town (with great cultural experiences if you're not used to small towns lol) in LeFlore County really close to where my mom grew up! We had a blast "roughing it" it wasn't really roughing it, though my mom liked to say it was. ;-) Here's a photo collage of some of the pics I took while we were there.

We made s'mores, we played in the water, went fishing, went for bike rides, played at the park, napped, grilled out. It was really a lot of fun for a little family getaway. I liked it mostly because it was a lot of "quality time". :)

I hope everyone has a great Father's Day weekend! I know I was blessed with a fantastic dad, and so was Jake! We'll be celebrating them this weekend!!

Happy Wednesday, friends!
