So, for starters... Today, I am thankful for the jumperoo. Since our little guy has been mobile we have sort of ignored the jumperoo. Well, in an effort to keep him from getting into things he should not, while I attempted to get things done around the house, I decided to try out the little jumperoo one more time. It was like a new toy!! He jumped for a solid forty-five minutes, no lie. Thank you, Lord, for the jumperoo. I am also thankful for wonderful weather! We were able to go outside and play around in the grass. The little man loved the fresh air. Ok, I loved the fresh air. He loved the crunchy leaves and sticks. My parents live fairly close to the Fort Smith airport and there were some planes flying around while we were out there. They caught Jake's attention. One was a little close and loud for his comfort level, though. He speed crawled his little Mogley-Jungle Book crawl right over to me when that one came screeching by.
Jake is quickly approaching toddler mode. This is definitely not a milestone I'm itching to cross any time soon. But he is. Every day he gets a little better at standing on his own. I had not tried letting him stand alone until my dad did. He took him one day and just let go while he was standing. Jake stood there for a good 5 seconds before he realized he wasn't holding on to anything. Today, he was mesmerized by a stick he was holding in one hand, while holding onto me with the other hand. He used both hands to hold the stick and then realized what he'd done and down he went. I won't mind if he continues to be reluctant of standing alone. I am not ready to chase a toddling 8 month old!!
I uploaded a video of the silly monster. This video will make anybody smile!!
HAPPY THURSDAY!!!
